United Methodist Women

Mission: United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Meetings: First Wednesday of the month August through June in the Social Hall.

Our best news is that our numbers are finally growing! We have welcomed some new people as well as returning former members, but we always have room for more!

Our June meeting will be devoted to assembling the Kits for Conference after church and there is no meeting scheduled in July. However, we have a lot planned when we resume on the first Wednesday in August. Hope you will plan to join us then.

Currently, we are working on several on-going projects. We are still accumulating supplies for the kits, especially the bags for school kits. If you are sewing some of these bags, please plan to have them ready by the first Sunday in June. We are also collecting scraps of material to stuff doggie beds for the SPCA and books for the library in the juvenile detention center. Contact Suzette or me if you have something to donate. We also need box tops and canceled stamps (trimmed with 1⁄4” borders) to send to the Wesley Center.

On the social side, we enjoyed a nice potluck supper at a recent meeting. And there was a lovely shower to welcome baby Adaline Martin. In spite of rather short notice, the party was well attended and Amber seemed very pleased with the gifts for the baby. Adaline was a perfect angel, allowing herself to be cuddled and rocked by everyone.

Please plan to help assemble the Kits for Conference after chuch on the first Sunday in June. Children are especially welcome to help. See you then.
